Well, it’s not quite official yet, but it looks like Ape Rifle is heading back to the Middle Kingdom for a few weeks in late March and early April. Out of necessity, I will have to spend a good chunk of that time in Shanghai (at least that’s the way things stand now), but I’ll likely have time left over for a bit of travelling and visiting. So, China blogger community, it’s time to hit me up with comments and suggestions as to what I should visit. I’m not looking for some wild expedition out to Tibet, nor do I want to get lost in the deserts of Xinjiang (again)- rather, I wouldn’t mind checking out some places in eastern/central China that I somehow managed to completely miss during my two-year stay. I also wouldn’t mind checking out some scenic countryside, small villages and such, considering so many of my travels in China have had me choking on the traffic fumes of some half-constructed ring road.
So here are the places I have been to:
Beijing
Shanghai
Xi’an
Jinan
Qingdao
Zibo
Taishan
Zhengzhou
Kaifeng
Chengdu
Leshan
Chongqing
Kunming
Lijiang
Dali
Xishuangbanna
Hainan
Guilin
Yangshuo
Hangzhou
Shaoxing
Three Gorges (from Chongqing to Yichang)
Xinjiang
Dunhuang, Gansu
Lanzhou
Ok, now it’s time for you to tell me where I should go, lest I miss out on ‘real’ China. I think there are some pretty obvious gaps, whole regions of the quintessential Chinese experience that I have yet to stumble through.
